....That is an awesome little rebuild project right there!!!
Good work H and thanks for sharing this, its really good food for thought.
You know, I've been content to tune purely "stock" for years, thats the rules I've raced to, its also the cheapest way to tune as you arent allowed any changes, BUT...
Very subtle changes to "stock", many of which you have highlighted in this build can make such a difference to a chassis.
Thats pretty much where I'm at nowadays with my builds, I'm looking for that little bit more, I don't have to build "just stock" now as I rarely race actively at club anymore.
You know, as you have shown, for such little expense over the very modest starting price of a Carrera model, you have built such a beautiful car, with all the performance you could ask for or want (in your case built for board track racing).
You DON'T need high dollar chassis, just a little thought, some minor mods and parts that have been matched to the intended application.
I like it a lot Harry, this is HOME RACING, this makes perfect sense!

I haven't quite figured out what to do with mine, but I'm sure I'll think of something. :D

It has been crazy here the past couple days getting last minute shopping done but I finally had some free time today to really run this car. All I can say is with the parts Harry put on this car, you would be hard pressed to not think it was a classic by Slot-It. This thing is quiet and smooth and just the perfect setup for my small layout. I ran the new Cheetah with it but all I did was sand and clean the tires. All I can say is no comparison even though the Cheetah is a nice running car out of the box. This Cobra is just like it rides on rails and it is so smooth. I know there was a lot done on this car and some may think its too much after the initial cost of the car. You could easily just pick a few of the upgrades and have a great running car. I can tell you at the very least plan on doing the wheels, tires, Mark's motor, B-Nova guide setup with a straight axle and the Slot-It gears on a couple Cheetah's. I want all my cars to run this good!
Jim, Harry and Dickie Thank you guy's again, I have a new favorite car and a template on how to tune other Carrera Classics from now on! I took a few pics while I was racing them today.
