Basic Carrera Magnet Question

Sometimes it's the simple things that stump me, and perhaps this is merely another case of that.

I recently bought a Carrera Dodge Charger and would like to pop out the rear magnet, however the chassis is of the style that has that curved plastic pressure bar holding it in place, like this one:

I've yet to successfully remove one of those magnets beneath the rear axle without breaking the plastic bar that holds it in place. :(

:?: What's the trick, fellas?

I use a dental pick, and carefully pry on the top of the plastic piece on one side. Once you get it released from the tab, it should pop right out.

It's easier if you remove the rear axle assembly first.

I use a homemade awl from an old flat tip. I ground it down to a fine point. It works great at popping them out.

Sorry for the bad photo, but I think you get the idea. A simple nail does the trick as well.

Thanks guys. I had a dental pick handy and that worked like a charm. I guess anything with a sharp point would work.

I had been taking the wrong approach and using flat-head screw-drivers. They got the magnets out alright, but also ensured that they could never again be put back in thanks to the broken piece of plastic. The sharp and pointy thing method seems to yield more desirable results. :)
