SCX Digital to analog conversion cheap!

As of late, I have been collecting up Nascar stockers for the speedway, Some of the best, and definitely the most choices, are from SCX. There are a lot of Digital versions showing up pretty cheap, and with a little time and a few tools, you can convert them to run on your analog Oval. This procedure should work on other SCX cars as well. here is what I have done to fix this.
First, after pulling the body, and removing the digital module, you can see there are four brass tabs coming out of the box. pop the lid off the module, and clip, or de-solder the four brass strips. there are two front legs that go under the guide, and two rear that will be glued to the chassis.

At this point, you should have this to work with.

Cut a piece of 1/4" styrene, or plastic from anything you may have laying around that will elevate the rear of the front legs going under the guide. glue this just behind the guide on the flat part of the chassis. put the bent front legs through the same holes they went through when you removed the module, and glue to the plastic riser. glue the two flat brass pieces to the chassis at the motor contact point, and solder two short wires between the front and rear contacts. The digital guide will work just fine as is,and can be put back when the conversion is done. I like to epoxy the plastic riser, and the brass strips to the chassis for hardcore racing. The car can then be tuned like any other SCX Nascar.
