"you can easily sand the tongue down until you get it where you like it."

It is a lot easier for me to remove material than to add to it. So I would vote for the added thickness.

I do not mind using spacers, just not stacking them in large numbers.

I ALWAYS install one.

Using one decreases movement resistance as well as allows me to adjust the guide in the event I go to a track that could use the guide raised slightly.

But stacking 3 or 4 spacers is not what I prefer.

Just my thoughts.

My only suggestion would be to make the screw holes larger. They never seem to line up.

I've already converted all my Carrera cars, but would help out where I could. I love your stuff. And being a retired Quality Engineer, I tend to be a little picky.

That will give you a little more flexibly when setting it up.

Jeremy,

Looking good. You might consider offering both versions. That way the customer can order depending on the application without having to do any sanding. Some Carrera cars need a deeper guide blade than others.

Best regards,
Brian

Mounted one of the new adaptors on my McLaren M20. It went on easily as did the original, the extra material worked out well. The only thing is the holes still don't line up well with the chassis holes. Not a big deal, just take a little fine tuning. I ran about 20 laps at my home track (very small) and then I went to Denver to visit my daughter and ran over 100 laps at a hobby store near her. It is my best handling magnet car and the new adaptor functions flawlessly. The new material seems to be a bit softer, but I couldn't feel any difference. Next I will install the other one in my 935. Haven't had time to run the Daytona coupe yet, it's on the list after the 935 conversion.

Hi Loosewheel, can you elaborate on the "holes not lining up"? We have tweaked hole alignment on these new adapters based on previous feedback and they seem to line up with everything we had to test with. That being said, car to car there is always a little difference (even for the same car/ chassis design) so we are trying to find the 'happy medium' for as many models as possible. Glad the offset was an improvement. As far as the color being softer- I think your mind is playing tricks on you! lol Seriously though, the material is rated the same as the black and printed with the same settings. We are considering going to a color coding system for easy identification of heights and direction so the material properties are certainly important to us. Let us know how the rest of testing goes! Thanks again for the feedback (everyone), it is critical to our success.

Zack,

I have no pics , but no real complaints either. There is a lot of "adjusting" one has to do using the B-Nova, I never minded it then...don't mind it now.

I did have to sand the opening in the mount for the guide post to turn freely. Not much, just a little. I used a small rat tail file. Also sanded the front of the guide hole opening as it rubbed slightly against the back of the guide. Just a quick sand with some medium grit.

I'll get some stuff posted/sent to you.

Ok so i have one of the two d3 guide adapters installed. I choose to do my plymouth superbird

Image

I had no trouble with screw holes lining up but i did need to trim the outer edges of the mounting area around the screw holes so it could fit down the way it needs to.
Image

I also needed to file the hole out so the guide could move freely. Now i used the d3 guide that came with my two adaptors. I plan on using a scaleauto guide with the second for comparison.

Both d3 guide and adaptor installed.

I forgot to add that i spun twenty or so laps after the install and truly like how it handles. I will run some more laps tomorrow on it.
