That is the exact unit that has been running my road course since it was built. Very dependable, and priced great.
best bang for the buck I have found.

I put the 10 amp one on my Carrera track last weekend, wanted the extra voltage I could not get with my Pyramid, on my track the 1\24 cars run great. with magnet and lights I only drew .3 Amps from 1 car
And wow I put a Carrera COT 1\32 and at 18 volts I just about had too much fun, I ran about 20 quick laps and the motor was not hot at all and could not smell anything
Thx for the Write up Harry
For the price and free shipping this is a great deal for the home racer

Good review and certainly a good option. I do see the same brand with 10Amps for only $61.99 with free shipping too.

Harry, when you say a normal track, is that like a plastic track. or 2 lane routed?

Sorry, a little confused since it works well for your 3 lane, which I think is 4 x16?

I suppose normal is a bad choice of words. I meant for most that are using plastic and still using magnets. Lot of folks I know use them and even add magnet. These cars will draw more AMPS. This 5 AMP unit is likely not the best choice for those conditions.
Size of the track itself isn't the factor.
Thanks, glad it helped.

Thanks for clearing that up, I hadn't thought about magnet running.

Nice review! Would the 10 amp model be the recommended one for magnet racing then? I like to run mag and no mag.

I bought the 10A version, although the power supply goes by the name of WEP. I suspect it is a generic Chinese made power supply and whomever buys in bulk gets to put their name plate on the power supply. I cant fault it. Its brilliant. Also has short circuit overload protection!! I don't know how they do it for the price. I give it two thumbs up.

I need to buy one of those, my Pyle is not as good as I'd hoped and the D124 cars need more volts too.

Yes, the 10 AMP model is the preferred model sir.
And the good Dr. is correct. It has many "brand" names when you search for it. But all the same.
