This is a regular Parma 16D armature. It has had the commutator trued and the timing advanced to 35 degrees. I do not have any stock 16D armatures hanging around. A home set armature would probably look the same as a regular 16D, the only difference is the wind, but I have never seen one of those. For some reason 16Ds have not been available for some time. Since these motors are found in entry level 1/24th cars that would seem to be a real problem. Complete cars using 16D motors look to be available and worn out motors can be rebuilt however.

The Parma company and it's Chinese manufacturer have had a contract "falling out". No new 16d motors are being imported, period.
Many commercial raceways have gone to those disposable "Evil 9" style motors to help fill the motor gap. (they are junk motors)
No rebuilding or repairing those Evil 9 motors. Just toss them in the trash when they blow up, usually after two races.

RichD is 100% correct with his photograph above. That is a Parma 16d armature. The only difference between the commercial grade 16d and the "Home Set" 16d is the number windings AND wire gauge used for the windings. The wire gauge size is visibly smaller in the "Home Set" arms.

Sir, with all due respect the Parma troubles are internal and not external. A few months ago I called Parma and to be honest they were as forth coming as a prostitute in church. I asked when we might see 16D motors and the man said we do not know. When asked if there was a possibility they would not return the man said, we do not know. When asked if because of the fact that there have been no new 16Ds for almost six months and every commercial and 1/24th group had adopted the Pro Slot 2002 as a replacement motor did he think there was still a market for it and the man once again said we do not know.

Everything gets messed up when there is a division of family property.

Most of our "home" users (in quotes because many are clubs) have moved on to 13D motors. The offerings from companies like SRP are pretty good, and fairly durable. We're on the fence regarding the new "Hawk" lineup from JK, simply because there aren't enough out there yet. At our track, we have racers still winning with 4 year old Falcons. If you absolutely want the rebuildable motor, the ProSlot 4000 - 4002 and new JK motor are good options. Many home racers are content with a $5 - $9 sealed 20K motor that works well for a year or two. SRP has a good 13D in 5k increments up to 35k rpm.

The market is definitely evolving. It will be interesting to see where it ends up.
