Formula 560 is not JUST PVA. it's actually stronger than that. I use it for putting cars back together after repaints.

But I use hot melt glue for motors. Quick and easy to remove. The above picture proves that it's easy to remove.

RMinAustralia -
I've never used the product but considering how much grief I have had with getting my hot glue gun to cooperate - this might be a nice alternate. :)
You mention that the motor, etc can be removed in using that glue - does it peel up off like hot glue or is it more involved, like using model glue or super glue?
Appreciate any insight. :)

I think this is one of those things that we all have our favourites and are likely to stick with what we have found to work for us, regardless of what other people do.

I personally use Shoe Goo for many, many things, sticking down motors included. It sticks extremely well (I feel it is greatly superior to hot glue in terms of adhesion/bond strength) but is still reasonably easy to remove: once you pick at an edge and get some purchase it can be readily pulled off, albeit with some effort. In spit of sticking well, it is flexible and strong enough to be pulled off in one (or at least a few) piece(s). I actually did this last night on some rear axle bushings: this again reaffirmed my belief in the utility of this glue. What more could one ask for: once in place it sticks incredibly well but still allows you to remove it somewhat easily.

To each his own.

Formula 560 is said to be a blend of PVA and cyano. Not really sure if it is, but it has all of the good points of PVA, including water solubility. But it is stronger than standard PVA. Mind you, It also has many of the band points of PVA. It is slow to dry and has limited strength until it does. It takes a full 24 hours to cure to full strength.

I use the same as Embs, and never had a problem . However I had a friend who ran a car with extra magnets and the motor of course got so hot it went poof. When he opened it up, the hot glue had started to melt.
Remembering there are 2 temp, ranges for the glue sticks, hot and medium melt.
Using the hot , it takes more heat to make it pliable .

I have used Aleene's [says "OK to wash-it"] permanent fabric glue for years. It's white and dries clear. Does not harm plastic, and is removable when necessary. I use it mainly for clear parts like windows and such. I've all so used it to glue in motors and axle bushings, driver figures, ect. and never had a problem with it. It appears to be similar to this Formula 560. I have never seen the Formula 560 sold around here, but the Aleene's can be found in any craft store like Hobby Lobby, or the craft section of Alco Discount or sewing center.

I use Goop. It has the same properties as Shoe Goo. I have even used it to glue chassis together and lots of quick repairs. On a rush job for a proxy car last year, the slim can had a BWA front and back bracket, and a brass plate which also mounted the body was Gooped to the bottom of the motor. The interior was Gooped to the top of the motor, and the driver to that. The only failure I had in a 12 race proxy was a wheel coming undone. After the car came home, I peeled it all apart and put the body on a new chassis and sent it off to the next series.

On several used cars that I have purchased, the hot glue had come loose and had to be replaced. You guessed it, with Goop.
