Oh, before you box it up, take a flat tip and pop off that magnet holder. You can snap it out from the bottom without removing the motor and such. When we talked earlier, I forgot that.

Then you can get a taste of how it runs here on the wood.

Enjoyed reading that! Lots of great tips to make a bad car into a good runner and the photos were helpful and laid out well.

Harry- I couldn't get the magnet pod off. It looks like one of the clips was ground off in order to allow the NSR gear to clear, so could it have been glued on? The one on my car came right off. Rather than hack away with the flat end of a screwdriver, I figure it best to just box it up and send it on back as is. I already learned a lot from it and have begun reworking mine. Thanks again.
