Help whith Carrera lap counter.

Hello, we got a Carrera lap / timer counter.
Ussually it works perfect and we're happy whith it, but fails to count laps when we are racing whith "cigar type" cars.
It's not a batteries problem, because we got it "electrified".
Help, please!

I'm afraid I won't be any help with this problem but mine did the exact same thing. It flawlessly counted laps for every car that I own except for my Carrera Go F1's.

I also have a Carrera lap counter and have the same issue. I believe it is because of the way the sensors point at the cars. (I think in a diagonal "X" pattern.

Basically, those F1 cars are too low and narrow and the sensor "misses" the car. How I "fix" this is to put "stickie" (you know, those yellow office supplies with a little adhesive on one edge? It doesn't have to be yellow though.) on the back wing, which allows the sensor to "see" the car. I know, not ideal. But it does work.

Agreed. The open-wheel car shape can be too "small" for the sensors to see in conjunction with the room lighting above the layout.

Mine won't record with all of the room lights on. But if I turn off the lights above the track the counter will "see" the cars and record laps. I've tried various hoods on the lap counter to shield the overhead light, but it doesn't work well. The "stick note" or even just a flap of duct tape on the car makes the car "large" enough for the sensors to see.

The other thing I have done to catch the small open wheelers is to lower the counter by 1/4 " .
I did this by cutting out some of the track base on the sides ofnthe track.
It now counts everything. If you find it is too low, you can shim it up a tad.

Here are a couple of pics of what I did.
for your track the lap counter fits past the edges of the track so it wouldnt require anything done
except lowering the area the lap couter sits on , or raising the track in the lap counter area slightly.

Wow! what a cool track!!!!
It´s made of foam. wood?
The urban landscape it´s great!

VS it is all 1/2"mdf wood , routed with copper tape. It measures 17x 5 feet running about 43 feet.
I like it for those cold winter days when it seems to much to, go to the garage to, test or run cars.
