If you race without magnets your cars will handle better if the front wheels are firmly planted at all times. The only exception to that might be if you are using a chassis with a very low center of gravity. You need to get the bottom of the guide flag blade as close to the bottom of the slot as possible. With a few cars you can add a spacer to get the guide deeper in the slot without lifting the front wheels off of the track. I use Slot.it wood track guides and trim them as needed. Those guides fit a lot of cars without having to modify the chassis.
