Any issues involved in running '60s slot cars on a modern Carrera 1/24 scale track? The reason I ask is because the Carrera slot cars seem to have dual brushes on each side.

Dual or single brushes like other brands don't make any difference; the guide is the important part.

As stated, there is no problem running vintage cars on modern track (Carrera or otherwise) as I have done it a number of times. You will want to make sure you have good tires (which might mean new wheels too) and you will want to watch the depth of the guide. Carrera track should be OK for depth unless you have an odd guide but that's pretty unusual.
Get tires, and run 'em!

What kind of 60's cars do you want to run? I can remember some of the ones I built . . . . . you might not have enough current in your power source to make them run. All the other stuff is important, just don't put one that draws a lot of current on the track as it will simply not go.

Its an Old K&B Chassis with a Ferrari body.I ordered replacement tires on the bay.the motor just required oil on the armature shaft(one small drop)to quiet the squealing.

If you're using the Carrera power pack be advised that it will have too many volts and not enough amps.
Other than that 1/24 scale cars should run just fine on that track.

The strange thing was,I put the Carrera terminal section and one long straight on the workbench for testing and it would not run.I hooked up my MRC train transformer to one lane with alligator clips and it ran just fine.I put the Carrera truck on and it ran fine(using the carrera transformer and controller).i wonder if the fact that is not a full circle explains the discrepancy.

Carrera has some of the best TRACK to replicate the Revell track sizes as far as slot width and depth. Most other vintage brands are very shallow and not work well with most flags . Other modern softer plastic track tend to be very narrow slots that can pinch some modern commercial flags - especially on tighter corners. Most DIGITAL systems use some form of AC power to the track and special circuits in the cars to sort the half wave (and half power) DC current. GO ANALOG.
