A buddy of mine is a compulsive garage saler and found this set several yrs ago. My 1st. slot car set was an Eldon of this vintage. So when this set became available late last week I just couldn't refuse it.

I had to rebuild 1 controller including fabricating a new wiper and strip 1 moter to wipe the grease off the commutator . The cars need tires and I wouldn't mind having 2 more chassis. When I got home yesterday afternoon from running the Grp. 5 cars @ Mid BC it was time for it's 1st. use in a couple (or so) decades. I set it up on the kitchen table (wife at work) lol, fussed with the braids for a bit, plugged in 1 of the leads that had fallen out, pulled the trigger and spun the tires all the way around the track. YEEHAW!!! (tires are harder than the track)lol

Enjoy
Randy

Wow, what a find, that track looks like a 1963 vintage from the looks of the mounts for the curves and straights. My first one was the Indy oval which took 'D' cell batteries for the power source. Later on I got the Daytona set which had the transformer and the cars came with the blur mabuchi type motor. I still have that set and a few extra track sections that add the total up to around 43 feet. Sure did have a lot of fun with that track. If you want a car that really sticks to the track any of the new ones with magnets really stick to those rails.
Nice find.

This was my first slot car set way back in 19..hmmmhummm...long ago! I tried twice to buy it on epay to no avail as prices got silly or shipping was too much. Great garage sale find. I am envious ....
