Does anyone make an infrared et timer that would indicate the winner and the speed/elapsed time?

The Trackmate system is the best by far, and it certainly is not cheap. But it does everything the real
timers do. You can even set up bracket races that the system sets up and starts automatically. In the
basic form, it stages, starts and times the run. You get a red light if you jump the gun. The results
show elapsed time, top speed, and reaction time. Well worth the money.

Slot Car Dragon is the superior hardware by far. Christmas Tree starter lights, instant result display readable from a distance, its good stuff. They are fairly new, only a few years old. I have no idea if it is fussy, whether it takes an engineer to set it up, nothing. But it has its own processor, so you don't need a laptop hanging around. But they have revised their website since I saw it, indicating they are still active.

I have been using the SlotDragon system for over a year now with no issues at all.
I would recommend this set up to anyone.
As mentioned previously there is no need for a PC of any kind and is very simple to use and install.
There are pre made clip on attachments for all types of plastic track and a system for timber tracks like I use.
Times single lane runs, side by side racing as well as reaction times all to three decimal points and a red light for jumped starts.
By far the cheapest system I have seen also.
Hope you find what you are looking for.Cheers.

I'm curious about this. Concerning slotDragon system, I heard good things on this. I also like the fact you have to set up your car to trigger the light tree.
In the future, if I create a slot drag strip, maybe I'll go for this.
