G'day Guys,

Our latest project car is complete, its a Revell Ford Thunderbird, out of box build on a WRP C06 chassis/tube steel. Motor is a Plafit Fox II, Cox 48 pitch Crown gear, Pro-Track wheels (1/8th axle).

The spec for this model is for Nomad Raceway Pro-Stock class, one of the slower classes at our club..... it is still a well contested class of racing and competition is tight :)

This build was a team effort, many thanks to my wife for another great paint job, I even managed to build a chassis from scratch on this one (as opposed to using a Parma Edge chassis)......

Looks great. Must be nice to have talent in the family. :)

Yes, this is my first "Pro" type chassis. Its a WRP "Tall tyre" kit (front plate and motor pod).

The tubing is .082, with smaller thinner wall tube for the wheelie bar support bracing.

I have added a chassis to motor brace as well to stop flexing.

Its the first chassis to have come off my Razor Jon jig, that jig is money very well spent, makes a tricky job easy :)

The car had its first run at Nomad the other night (with a different body, this one was still being finished off), it was competitive on debut but needs a little fine tuning to find the edge :)

I love the rear rubber on it, hooks up great and looks cool, but .500 or even .435 wide rubber would be sufficient and get the E.T's down near the track record.

Its a great part of our hobby H, our club is booming because of the drags and the good news is there is a flow on into other sections of the hobby.

Nomad Raceway is re-introducing 1/32 plastic chassis racing shortly. A few of us are pooling our Artin track to build the new club layout (thats where the four laner you sent me all those years ago is being put to good use!).

We have something good in our little part of Australia, Pete Richards (and Dave!) have kept the hobby alive up here and we as a club are enjoying the fruit of their efforts!

I'm pretty chuffed, I can enjoy building and racing my drag cars, plus I get to return to my roots in this hobby, 1/32 home racing :)
