Very cool setup. Looks like a lot of fun.
What is the track surface composition and how long is the track?

Todd, yeah, it makes it a bit more interesting when you have to stage the car by "driving" it in rather than pushing it in by hand.
Bob, the track surface is MDF with black stain that has been coated with 4 coats of urethane to give it the shiny look. It provides great traction for urethane tires. We've already had a couple cars come out off the slot when they took off.

Awesome watching the drive up to stage. How forgiving is the stage line? Or did you guys just get lucky and hit it every time without "rolling" through?

Looks like lots of FUN! How long is the actual racing surface, Start line to Finish? Also, what kind of power are you running there?
Thanks for the photos, and... Enjoy! -- Ernie :>)

That racing part is 26' (approx. 1/8th scale mile). It's powered by two 12 volt power supplies (1 for each lane). I forget the exact amp rating of the power supplies, but it's not very high so it keeps out the high amp/high dollar motors. Most of our classes are based around the Piranha motors, and it's provided some great racing. We also require urethane tires, so no glue is used on the track.
So far, the record is a .9088 pass, Don't know what motor was used, but it's a good one!!! lol
