micro switch

Has anyone ever tried to use a micro switch for staging on a 1:24 scale 3/4" thick routed track???

I was thinking stage only, I think the photocell will work fine at finish line. I bought a pair of tiny switches that I may try . I think they will do fine.. Thanks
