S.C.O.R.E. from Fairview 1/23/13!
Posted: Thu Jan 24, 2013 8:47 pm1/23/2013 Fairview Speedway Leesport Pa hosted the S.C.O.R.E. boys tonight, on tap were USAC midgets and USAC dirt champ cars, Tim Buckwalter gets the double tonight by taking the win in both features and he gives the Tornado Chassis Company their second stop to victory lane in the midget feature.
There's nothing like celebrating your birthday like winning a couple of races. Wednesday night at Fairview Speedway, SCORE rookie Tim Buckwalter broke into victory lane twice as he captured both ends of the USAC midget and dirt champ double-header. Buckwalter became the eighth different driver to grab a checkered flag this season.
In the 50 lap midget event, Buckwalter had an easy time collecting 48 markers with his Tornado Chassis number 4. Two first segment miscues prevented Mike Lengel from tying for the top spot as he had to settle for second among the 15 drivers in the field. Carey Becker, a point down, earned third by topping his brother Dyke by a notch. Steve Buckwalter, making his first start of the season, was right behind for fifth place.
It took a borrowed ride from Lengel to get Tim Buckwalter into the line-up. Once the race began, there was no looking back as Buckwalter snared 49 points to win again. An early shunt by Lee Greenawalt was the difference between winning and taking second one counter in arrears. Eight points back, Dave Balloch edged Steve Buckwalter by less wrecks for third place while Homer Hiester earned fifth overall. Twelve drivers competed in the 75 lapper.
