The old SCX Nascars are pretty nice, aren't they? I need to inventory mine and see what I have!

No these are all standard. I have the Pro cars in the boxes but usually just run these.

I wondered because Stewart is one of the pro cars..fiddling with these for an upcoming race on an oval on the 11th and checking things...I was really surprised weighing the scx bodies how much lighter they are than revel/monogram stockers. And to think you can lop off another 6grams using the lighter interior the pro comes with.....pretty drastic. I do hafta dumb down the motor though to something like the other cars use..I don't think it'll hurt though.

I installed the standard RX42B in mine to get them closer to the standard cars. Might try searching for that motor here or the bay. Bruce at Cincy might have some or Brian at BRS Hobbies.

I will look...or I could use the spare pod for a different one I think...not sure what fits. I have an scx adapter for a hr18000 in the scx cars so that might be the ticket too.

The standard Scx Nascars in either COY or COT are probably the most well used slot cars that I have. They have about a million miles because I used them at events where I took my mobile track. Most of those miles are at low voltage which I used to keep the kids from crashing too hard. To speak for the high quality of SCX cars, none of those 20 or so cars that I own ever came with a bum motor, cracked pinion, bent axle or loose wheel. I never even changed tires on mine because I found the stock tires worked pretty well on my chalkboard painted wood oval. Definitely the RX42B was the motor to have in those cars.

Question for Harry....how good are you at getting the front motor pod clip off the pro NASCAR? Is there a trick to it?
