I am just in the finishing stages of my routed 3 lane oval. I plan to run mainly sprints, midgets, and mods. I used a lot of tips from this website, so thank you all for the detailed, helpful information. Saunders Lake Speedway is a routed 3 lane oval with 4in. lane spacing all compact on a 4x8 sheet of plywood. So short track racing would be an understatement here. The track was intended to be 4x16, but when we moved I was forced to shorten things up. I am having an absolute blast running womps and sprints plus chassis with Pro Track foams and Falcon and Plafit motors. The power is provided by Pyramid Power Supply and the controllers are by Professor Motor (Low Cost with sensitivity adjuster). Timing is Trackmate Infrared sensors. I built very slight banking down the straights and in the corners with door shims. Stacked two down the straights and three in the corners. I hope you all enjoy.
Thanks,
Brad

Great looking short track!
Can you share the foot print and where you sourced your fence? :D

When you say footprint do you mean the total area of the table? That is 4x8 feet. The outside lane is approximarely 17 1/2 feet around. The wall and fence are a combination of smooth FRP panels, screen door mesh, and 1/8 in piano wire. Hope that answers your question.

They say good things come in small packages. Well, your track is an excellent example of that.
Anyone who disagrees doesn't get the "big" picture of what it's supposed to be about....FUN!
