Love that video. They were pushing those barges to the limit in the 52 race. Now that would be a proxy. LOL Jim

Be nice if I knew a guy that had a oval painted to look like sand/dirt. Hmmmmm...
Well Dave, thanks to you we can.

Yes lets vet a proxy series for these. What great looking cars
and the liveries are endless.

I think I am with Chappy on the fact that it would make a pretty cool summer due date proxy series! I would think we could come up with a pretty good spread of oval tracks to run them on! :D

I've got a Fabulous Hudson Hornet partly finished on my desk in front of me. Soldered up the chassis earlier this evening and it will soon be ready to paint.
Bring on a 50s NASCAR proxy. I'm in. Smilin' Ray makes bodies for most of those 50s cars.

I'll second the mention of Smilin' Ray's bodies. He and David are tied for first for quality in bodies for sale, third place is miles back.

My Hudson is one step closer to being a beachracer proxy car. I tested it at the track tonight and it ran pretty well. It is not great on the really tight turns on Luf's Targa, but should be good on an oval. I've ordered some "Fabulous Hudson Hornet, Marshall Teague" decals, and now just have to paint it.
Let's keep talking this up, eh, it sounds like a really fun idea.
Cheers,
Keith

If it works for you, that's all that matters. :auto-checkeredflag:
I am doing a 40 Ford based off the historic cars.
15x7 wheels and tires flush with fenders. 18K HAWK, 9/27 gearing. Brass Stinker Chassis.
These old cars didn't have big wide steamroller tires back there. I want scale appeal and those skinny "rut diggers" is what I will do.
Shotgun is making the inserts as we speak for those that want them for scale appeal.

Is someone going to cast those old "Balloon Tires" also? I just remember how short the ol''78'-series tire looked when it first came out.
