It is because of this unique design and how they performed that I became a fan. Well behind other enthusiasts as usual, the Viper finally joins the stable.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">I am late to the Viper party of course. Many clubs are already racing them and the feedback I am reading seems mostly positive. This color coding seems to be a way to identify parts for a certain model. Such as red for my Porsche, blue for the Marcos, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">I am just guessing of course. The website they list on the box is a dead link and emails to BRM go unanswered.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6031\" src=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/rvochassis4a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"897\" height=\"590\" srcset=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/rvochassis4a.jpg 897w, https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/rvochassis4a-640x421.jpg 640w, https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/rvochassis4a-768x505.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 897px) 100vw, 897px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Slight chassis changes from the Porsche and Marcos chassis. A fully recessed motor screw area instead of the recessed slots like the Marcos. No real reason or improvement to me. Recessed was all that was needed over the Porsche. Milling out the whole area wasn&#8217;t really needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The motor opening is larger. This was needed as the rear of the motor could hardly clear before. So they gave it an extra MM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6032\" src=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/rvomotorshim1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"753\" height=\"857\" srcset=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/rvomotorshim1.jpg 753w, https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/rvomotorshim1-640x728.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 753px) 100vw, 753px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">And we have a new shim. This allows the other end of the motor to clear the motor opening and sit flush against the motor mount bulkhead. Would be nice to have a part#, but it isn&#8217;t even listed in the small brochure you get with the model.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6050\" src=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/viperparts-900x649.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"649\" srcset=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/viperparts.jpg 900w, https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/viperparts-640x462.jpg 640w, https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/viperparts-768x554.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">In case you are new to these cars, they have a larger 3MM axle and use metric M3 screws.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">I use my own 1.5 MM wrench, but any will do. Just don&#8217;t get heavy handed, they are easily stripped (ahem).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">I will NOT tell you to glue in the bearings. I will tell you the rears will spin in the mounts over time. I did glue mine in using some CA (Super Glue) but I had to take car and ONLY USE the smallest amount.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6034\" src=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wheels-900x803.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"803\" srcset=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wheels.jpg 900w, https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wheels-640x571.jpg 640w, https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wheels-768x685.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><em>Finally the most important, and completely unnecessary change.<\/em> These new wheels are slightly wider than the ones found on the Porsche and Marcos. And for no good reason whatsoever aside from taking a chassis platform that was supposed to be mechanically compatible in a series, to making it the opposite.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebay.com\/itm\/1-32-XPG-URETHANE-SLOT-CAR-TIRE-2-pr-XPG-21125-fit-REVOSLOT-Dodge-Viper-\/153289007842?hash=item23b0bca2e2\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Paul Gage lists the #21125<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"> as a urethane replacement, but you will need to true it. Thats&#8217;s ok. easily done and it works just fine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">I prefer the fit of the #21125LM myself, but again you will need some truing on your machine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6033\" src=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wheels2-900x583.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"583\" srcset=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wheels2.jpg 900w, https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wheels2-640x415.jpg 640w, https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wheels2-768x497.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6051\" src=\"https:\/\/homeracingworld.us\/TeamHRW\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/viperparts2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"677\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The quick fix for the existing Quick Slicks that were specifically made for the smaller wheel is a good old fashioned O-ring. I installed it on the inside and it keeps the tire firmly seated on the wheel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Testing other tires we found the Quick Slicks #TS43 made for the Thunderslot models to work even better. No, this isn&#8217;t the quietest model on the track, but with a little break-in it&#8217;s not too bad. But the chassis just resonates sound very well. I enjoy the difference this car is against any other and they really chose some nice older body styles that are still attractive.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">This car is a special one and I will enjoy running it with my friends.
