class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>While not required, using a small ratchet and deep well sockets (11\/32\u201d and 3\/8\u201d) will make securing the posts to the panel much easier.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Wrenches will work, they\u2019ll just take a little longer (and test your patience\u2026).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The rightmost tool (blue handles) is a wire stripper\/cutter.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The tool next to it (red handles) is a terminal crimper \/ wire cutter.<span you are purchasing a stripper\/crimper tool for this project, a basic tool like the one in the picture below will strip wires, crimp terminals and cut wire without breaking the black, white and red insulation (to match the driver station hookups).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This wire is readily available at home improvement centers and automotive parts stores.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #008000;\">For convenience, we also offer Driver Station Wire pre-cut to the recommended 18\u201d lengths (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.slotcarcorner.com\/Drivers-Stations\/Driver-Station-Kits\/3-Post-Alligator-Clip-Driver-Station-Kits\/Driver-Station-Wire-Kit-1-p3339.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCC ring terminal over the bare insulation on one of the wires \u2013 note there should be about 1\/16\u201d of bare wire that protrudes from the terminal barrel.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>If necessary, remove (strip) more insulation or trim off excess bare wire before crimping the terminal.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4513\" your wire crimping tool, position the barrel of the ring terminal into the crimper.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Be sure to use the crimping area designated for non-insulated terminals.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Some crimping tools will also have different positions for the size terminal (14-16 AWG) being used.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Note the position of the \u201ctooth\u201d that will make an indentation in the terminal \u2013 it is on the \u201cback\u201d side of the terminal barrel, 180 degrees from the seam.<\/span><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Make sure the bare wire is inserted as far as it will go into the terminal barrel.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Squeeze the crimping tool firmly to crimp the terminal to the wire.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Repeat this step for the remaining two (2) wires.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\" style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large
