This model by Carrera has been a longtime favorite in my stable. Each of the prior releases were easily tuned and have logged many miles on our home track, so the decision to add one more wasn’t hard to make.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The model is technically a fictional scheme, but it’s easily seen that they based it loosely on the Michael Keyser car that was ran in 1976. For more information on the 1:1 car and team CLICK HERE.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

So if you compare it to the prototype, there is obviously plenty of differences. To be honest I could care less. Carrera took an older mold and found an attractive scheme for the release.\u00a0 I did not expect anything more and I’m happy with it as is.<\/span><\/p>\n

This the digital version, but easily changed for analog use as all of them are. Mechanically it is the same as all prior releases with standard motor and 9\/27 gearing. Plenty of magnet here for those that like them and easily removed if you don’t.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My only change was installing fresh urethane tires. You will need some sanding to get them just right, but that is one of the blessings of this compound. And that’s all I plan to do. This car will just ride alongside the others before it and we will have plenty of close racing with them.<\/span><\/p>\n

With those tires changed and a good sanding session, the car was smooth and fun to drive. <\/span><\/p>\n

That is all I expected from this car and Carrera delivered. Overall another nice offering that won’t break the bank and my wallet appreciates it. For simple home racing these models are hard to beat for the price.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
