All it took was the right paint scheme to make this my first Ford Escort.

I fully admit to being one of the many who just cannot get enough of classic GULF colors. I also like the special display cases Scalextric puts them in. For some who collect, this has become quite popular. 

I think they have done a good job with this model overall. I do not really run this class of model often, so having one in this scheme is a good start.

Basic inline configuration with slimline motor and 9/27 gearing. And yes, lighted front and rear. Another major plus for me.

Chose Paul Gage as my tire choice. These fit well and easily sanded. You might want to glue them for hard racing. I coated my wheels with Hansens Hard as Nails nail polish. This holds the tires well. but they can be peeled off if need be.

No idea if I will ever get another one, but happy with the one on front of me for now. Of course any fan of this series will almost have to have it.
