Thanks for looking. In answer to your questions,
The axle bushings are made from 1/8 nylon tube supports or sleeves as they are
sometimes called. In this case the axle was .059, which was too small for the hole.
I cut them off to the width of the chassis and ran a .059 drill through till the axle
fit. Drilled the chassis out .001 smaller than the od of the bushing and pressed them
in. The sleeves are made of brass and drill pretty easy. Can get them here
http://fittingsandadapters.com/tubinsleev.htmlWhat holds the body on is just some 3m foam sticky tape, as far as them staying on
the cars I build now are mostly for show since I have no track anymore, but I have used
on ones I use to race and they stay on pretty good but for serious racing another
mounting method would be better.
The wheels are old Aj's that were laying around, use them more for looks than anything
else. The have been run and run fairly true, however the tire is a hard silicone and doesn't
lend well to bumps.
If I had a track I would not be afraid to run the car as I've many that I've run, crashed
and rebuilt over time.
Hope this answers your questions
