You gotta love a little Jager in your Carrera 124

Postby Cincyslots » Sun Oct 21, 2012 8:01 am

This could be the best job I've ever done. It's your standard Carrera Porsche GT3 stripped and painted. I added axle bearings to the front, a rear axle kit and scaleauto rims and inserts. I took these picture a bit too soon. The rear wing wasn't finished. I built this to race. I'm not sure I can actually do it. :naughty: I'm sure I will.

You might have to wrap in bubble wrap to race it...

Sweet work Bruce, the wheels look fantastic

What size Scaleauto wheels did you use?

Thanks for the nice comments. I use Testers WET, I think is the name. We sell it at the shop. I'll look up the name in the morning. Believe it or not, it's only 2 coats to get it that shiny. I have the Brumos car on the bench now. I've been putting it off because I'm afraid of the hood decal. Oh well, here goes nothin'.

Who's decals are you using? I really like to use the Testors Clear coat but last time I used it with Pattos it blistered the decals. Looks really good. Can't wait to see the Brumos. I've got a Carrera 1/24 I've been working on this weekend and hope to have it done later this week.

The wheels are Scaleauto SC4042 front and SC4043. http://www.132slotcar.us/store/index.ph ... 19&&page=3 We have the wheels in stock $6.99pr The tires are from Rubirosa. I'm hoping to have a few sets in a couple weeks???

The paint is Tamiya primer(Testers works fine too. I just didn't have any at home), in stock The orange is Testors Hemi Orange 28107, in stock. The clear is Testors 1834 Wet Look Clear, in stock.

CHRIS,

I used Tamiya clear X-22. I used a brush to paint on a thin layer of sealant and then sprayed the car once dry. I'm going to use 2 coats on the Brumos. If you look closely you can see that I had a couple wrinkle too. If I don't use the clear sealer, the decals are junk.

Here is the finished product
