Returning to the pits after the surprisingly poor performance the crew chief gathered everyone around the car and driver to get a full run down of the drive. Knowing our car should have dominated in the wet and slippery conditions makes this poor performance and back of the pack finish both surprising and a hard pill to swallow. Ownership has stated that they full expect the team to work hard on the tune and have a better result next round!

Very poor showing after coming off a podium finish in the last series. What should have been a walk in the park for this team turned into a fiasco. The team should have been better prepared even with the rain. No excuses here. :angry-tappingfoot:

CJR RACING is still recovering from what should have been a 1st place and series win in season 7. During the short off-season there was some considerable restructuring and the initial results are positive. Brats, Sushi and Beer all around.

Dare we admit it, but we just love the sound of that big block engine through the straight pipes. Nothing fancy about the Slothead Vette, just brute power and that ground pounding rumble. No we didn't get a high finish out of this first run but every head in the pits turns when we fire this monster up. We'll hope for better outings to come but love having the most distinctive car in the series no matter what.

[Racing Bandit]

Bandit Racing is very pleased with the results so far. Mrs Bandit cautioned everyone involved that it is still very early in the series. She also reminded the team that Bandit's last season in his 360 started out in just the same manner before the accident that put an end to his Winged Sprint driving career. Ben Razin, Team Principal, promised her that the team would do everything in their power to keep the Bandit as safe as possible.

The team is really scratching their head on this - the Lancia should be a contender - but maybe we need an off road section for it to shine? The boys are headed to the conference room to brainstorm how to lower the center of gravity on this machine and get her hooked up with the pavement!

No problem. Slothead Racing enjoyed the holiday break and used the time to show off the Vette at some mall car shows. Yes, we should have spent more time working on the transmission and rear end setup, but we're suckers for attention and think we've gotten a few more race car groupies.

Next time you do a total time race like this perhaps you can handicap the times so everyone is equal. The last place car #130 Porsche has no handicap while the fastest car #9 Alfa Romeo gets a 21.51 second handicap (gets this amount added to it's time). The handicap for each car is the slowest time minus it's time from this race. This way if a car can beat it's prior time it should move up to a better finish, but if it has a slower run it will likely move downward. The outcome will depend on each car getting the most out of it's run, regardless if other cars are faster or slower overall. I see beads of sweat on the brow of the solo driver from knowing it's how well each car is driven that will determine the results.

Bandit and the team enjoyed the long Holiday Break using the time to go over the car with a "fine-tooth comb" to make sure that there will be nothing mechanical to impede our progress. The Bandit would also enjoy taking an off road excursion like TuscoTodd and the #1 Team getting back to his roots. :auto-driving: 8-)

We've spent some time this past week with Helen discussing Zenith vs. Solex. She finally said, "So you really don't want it to be normal, you want it to be super?"

When last seen Helen was researching a book on Italian Supercars.
