Well.
I finally got the kid moved out, the room cleaned out, and made some time to work on the new track. The first one was 8x16 3 lane routed.
I still have it but since it's a summer only track, I wanted something inside.
The room is 10 x 12 so I toyed with 9 x 10 but the navigation was just troublesome, even with two lanes. As much as I love having three lanes, they just don't get used. So I went with two lanes, and a 7.5 x 9 table.
So the table is 1/2" plywood and 2x2 framing and legs. One end is screwed to the wall so it's pretty sturdy. The track is 1/2" MDF routed with the strips. I went with 4" spacing so I can run my vintage 1/24 cars as well. I decided on a homage to Road America as it is one of my favorites and it was reasonable for the table size in 2 lanes. Finally got it assembled today and the joints and screws filled. So I took a break to share it.
I am going to go with copper tape for now, braid may be in the future if budget allows and the club runs it enough. Power is a 10A 14V supply I got for $5 at an estate sale, with adjustable voltage at each driver's station.
I don’t have an official length yet but should be around 35 ft or so.
