Dug this out of my junk drawer. It was an old Strombecker? Chaparral. The proportions were not right, so I removed a few millimeters on the back that overhung the rear wheels, shortening the over all length of the car.
Built a inline Brass and Lego chassis using a small N class 22 K@12 volt motor. Top end is good, but the small motors lack the grunt for adequate braking. To remedy this I installed an adjustable friction plate on the rear axle that allows you to dial in some mechanical braking.( basically two small washers with a small spring between them. Tighten the compression on the spring increases the rolling resistance of the chassis.
Printed the decals on my laser printer and vacuum formed the glass.
