I’m happy to see Sideways bringing this car out, but I, frankly, don’t understand.
Carrera beat everyone to market. Now we have both Scalextric and Sideways bringing the same car to market.
I mentioned economics of scale on the Ti22 thread. With the Ford GT, there is one basic livery with two cars for the US IMSA series and two cars for the FIA series. Also, will the market for a Ford GT become saturated? I’m sure the rabid Ford fans scarfed up the Carrera version since it was first to market. The ones wanting a “more raceable” model will get the Sideways version. Scalextric fans will grab their favorite company’s offering.
If this makes economic sense, then so does a Chaparral 2D.
FWIW I have Carrera’s offering in 1/24 and 1/32.
