I do a bit of resin casting...here is one for QM bodies

Postby munter » Sun Jan 07, 2018 2:14 am

This is the Duntov Corvette Sebring racer.
Progress is slow but today the bullet and grill were added to the shell which has been done x 10 for QM bodies aka Charles Lawrence in Seattle.

The master was done by Martin Field who is an expert craftsman and his skills have resulted in many great models.

Next is to find a suitable driver and make an interior tray but the big challenge is to create a block for vac forming the screen.
Inserts are the BWA halibrand with three ear knoock off.

The body is just sitting on a PP chassis to give a temporary view.

"I do a bit of resin casting...."

I enjoy your capacity for understatement. :D

This appears to be superbly molded and characteristic of the quality of your products. Fans of Corvette racing in the '50s will desire this.

Thanks for showing it here. :text-bravo:

Immaculate craftsmanship, not to mention a rare prototype seldom ever modeled! Wonderful.

I could do that if I had any talent or knew how.

Fantastic job. The talent and craftsmanship of some of the slot car racers around the world is mind boggling. :text-bravo:

Yeah, Butch, THAT'S what holds us back. I feel better now I know.

Beautiful car. You should be very proud. As I remember, that car had unusual wheels of some sort. I'm too lazy to go look it up right now, are you going to cast parts for those, too?

No idea what the car was with the odd wheels I'm remembering. The Halibrands you mentioned are correct without modification. I looked and looked and whatever that Vette was I am thinking of, probably a Salt Flats racer, it isn't one of the Duntovs, and I never found it. Just wanted to be sure my earlier comments didn't put you on a wrong track.
