1/32 Scale Proxy Race for Silicone Slip on Tires

I was looking around and there does not seem to be a proxy for silicone shod cars. Spoke briefly to Mike at Cloverleaf and bounced around some ideas. So here are some thoughts.
What if we find a brand of cars that needs some help in promoting their product. So for example Thunderslots, Scale Auto or even the new version of the inline Scalextric that can easily accept after market gears, rims, pickup shoes etc. Wheel size would have to be specified. We limit the motor to either stock or a maximum of say 25K RPM.
Cars could be tuned as you would normally, but when sending the car in for the proxy it would only have rear wheels with no tires mounted. So for example cars could be sent to Cloverleaf and all cars would receive a pair of Quickslick Silicone Tires that would be slipped on with no truing. From there it would go to select tracks that are Silicone friendly and we would have I believe an interesting proxy event.
The one knock on Silicone tires is they are hard to mount and true. We know there are some masters out there, Smokeio you know I mean you are one of them :D .
The other is people do not want to run Silicone on a track that is used for rubber and/or urethane tires. So if we address these issues might it be possible?
Anyways it is just a thought...comments welcome just don't shoot the messenger :idea:

I would be down for a Thunderslot proxy with stock motor and being able to profile inner tire.

How about one class for pod chassis and a class for one piece chassis. Any body and any year. This would give every one to run what they love.

Big fan of this idea. Quick Slicks area great tire even as a slip on. Almost all of the versions I've picked up recent already have a radius on both inner and outer wall. No need for additional profiling! There is a racer locally that is competitive and often beating others with slip on tires. Definitely something to be said for the art of tire trying.

As far as class... I'm open. I actually really like the idea of both a podded and non-podded. Not sure about wide open unless we put some other limitations on weight/width/etc.

That is correct the builder will still be able to fine tune their car in advance of shipping car out for proxy.

A few things I would like to add. We can and will probably do more than one class. I was thinking one podded and one non podded. The tires for this race must be silicone but they do not have to be Quick Slicks, we only have so much space on the podium anyway so off brands can enter. If you elect to run an off brand make sure you have them mounted on your car and let us know your intent and we will send you a set of Quick Slicks when we send the car back. We will work on the rules as soon as we have heard from a few more people and we know we have an interest.

How about promoting the Pioneer Trans Am cars with silicones... keep them stock with the slip on tires...I can provide the cars as I am the Canadian Distributor for Pioneer... What do you guy's think...it would give those beautiful cars a endurance run.

What, you expect me to buy another Pioneer Trans Am car just so I can enter this proxy? Heck yeah, sounds like a plan to me.

I have about all of their Trans Am replica notchback Mustangs, but only one Camaro. If you have any of the twin packs let me know.

And I've never tried Quick Slicks, so that works too.
