Aston Martin Ulster in 1/32

Postby btaylor » Thu Aug 10, 2017 4:22 am

Trying my hand at a few pre war sports cars. I had been wanting to build a couple of these for a while now, and had some kits in waiting. This one is on a hybrid chassis using a printed motor pod for slim can, with brass rails, and a slotting plus guide. M/T-1 Motor, cox rear crown in 27 teeth. wheels are cut down Strombecker on 1/8" axles. This will be a gentleman's racer, as it wont hold up to hard core crashes. I have a Bugatti type 59 in the works also, and an MG To have a few choices. Just in the fitting stages at present, but I think its going to be a fun one.

Made a few laps today with the Aston. Not a fast car by any means, but a smooth runner, and tons of fun!.

I don't know how you crank'em out so fast, Bob. Great work as always, and I really like the subject. I have been collecting pieces and parts for 2 years to build the Bentley Blower, and I'm not near ready to build yet.

Nice job indeed. This caused me to do a google search and these cars only had a 1500cc 4cyl engine and weighed just under a ton. By the looks of the model I expected more cc's than that, they just look so grunty.
