DB 5(repaint)

Postby BARC 1 » Wed Aug 09, 2017 3:01 pm

Surfing on the net found an an artist' vision for a DB 5 with inspiration by the Spitfire. I liked the vision so I thought i would create a slot car. I built a brass chassis for it and modifed an Airfix kit.

Paint was applied to match the North African Spitfire theme. I like the exhaust side pipes in the style of the Spitfire.

Now I need to lobby Harry into allowing some British metal into the Showdown series.

Hi Dan,
Another super job well done!!! Great work.

Is this 1:32 or 1:43?
I am pushing my comfort zone in trying a brass chassis ...first time. Your chassis build is very neat and simple, no complex cutting etc. I like it.

Cheers

It is 132. I am new at brass construction as well, so keeping it simple was important. I bought the brass rear axle block from SCC.

I think this will get a paint touch up. Photos always help identify opportunities for improvement. Something not quite right with the scheme. May change this from the North African to the European which has more gray and green.

Re: New paint on DB 5

I swapped the paint over to the European Spitfire camo on the Austin Martin DB5. The Desert scheme with the glosscote just wasn't looking the part. On this attempt I left the camo dull.
