Great looking hot rod Harry, however I was hoping you were casting in origanal form, was needing a couple stock looking bodys.

Thanks guys.

So very busy here getting ready for the big shindig, but finally the body production is coming.

Shapeshifter Resins finally creates a new Sportsman :)

Just an example of the mold.

Looking good so far.

This will do.

Well looky here! Seems like you've got this down pat. I can finally retire! Look for a large semi dropping off many molds and associated things soon!

Well you should have one by now sir :)

Been too long since I had some time to build. Lame excuses abound, but finally back to it.

Image

Just some shots of the chassis in progress. JK Bracket, brass and some piano wire is all.

Image

Image

Ran the wire inside the brass tubing and bent it up for added front axle support.

Image

Image

Made some "shaker" pans or sort of. They slide over the frame tubing (one size up) and do allow a little float.

Image

Image

The bottom plate and rod set the front to back motion. Since I am just experimenting, I cut the plate just a shy short so I threw in a rod.

Image

Guide mount and side tunes for wire routing.

Image

All done and painted with Duplicolor Gun Metal.

To be continued ;)

Yes I do, and I'm working on getting it mated up to this. I miscalculated with the guide support and had to shorten it a little after these pictures. So far, so good.

Yes great work there BD. Really like that "Z" frame approach. Reminds me of my mod chassis. Really well done.

Thanks. This isn't Build-Off work, but I'm inching toward a Showdown '18 entry. Summer is easier than winter for me to work on it, and it takes me weeks if not months anyway. Harry's Galaxie body is really nice- very smooth inside and out, and looks like it will need only a minimum of work to prep it for paint. Get your hands on one while they last.

BD, whose inline motor bracket are you using? I don't readily recognize it, is it one you made yourself or someone's production part? :)
