Working on a couple new ones. First is a little five window coupe

And second is a 36 Ford coupe which is still in the design stages.

Both are works in progress and coming along.

All for now

Kevin,

I keep watching these great builds on this thread. Fantastic work here! I love the cars you've modified. Is your track posted here and is it similarly fantastic?

Thank you for the kind words David. I had a small track set up many years ago
but it's long gone now. Tore it down when my oldest son moved back after he
and his wife split. Now he has also moved on and never have build another
one. Here's an old bad pic of it. Had three power pacs wired in, one on
each lane so you could race and one for the steering wheels with switches
so you could drive one lane and just have the other running around,
kind of a one person race if you will.

Sorry for the bad pic but it's a picture of a picture before all this digital stuff. So now I
just build cars and set them around cause I still enjoy building and fooling with these
little cars.

Thanks for posting that - beautiful track. Sorry you had to take it down. Do another one LOL!!!

Glad you're still building though, I've enjoyed your work.

I see some old friends there on the control station. I have a box full of those old Model Motoring controllers, showing four generations of the design. I don't have anything that I can do with them, but they are too cool to toss away. I'm going to sell off all my HO stuff when I get time to take pictures of all of it, and I'll sell them with track and transformers or something I guess.

Worked on the hood some more. Built a scoop for it and put more angle on the hood.
Image
Also trying to make a driver to fit inside. Had to shorten him 1/32 to make him fit
better. He still needs to be cleaned up and painted.
Image
Hope I can fit him and a cage inside cause there isn't much room in the 36 body, but we'll
try.

I'm sitting here chuckling and shaking my head....Such great work for such a small scale. The pics have to be three times bigger than the actual cars!

Your latest coupe sort of reminds me of the #14, that Smokey Boutwell drove at Stafford Motor Speedway. I think I snapped this picture around 1968.

Stafford was paved in 1967, by 1970 I think that NASCAR had banned fuel injection, so 1968 sounds about right.

Thanks all for the nice comments. Made a little more progress on the 36.
Hood is now in primer and needs a little touch up, and did up a bumper
for the front.

Joints need to be cleaned up and sanded, once done we can move to the rear and figure
that out.

Next it's on to the driver and cage. Still haven't decided on colors guess I'll see what decals
I have to use and go from there.
