Got some paint work done on the coach frame. Not one of the better paint
jobs, seem to always have trouble with white for some reason.

After the paint had dried, mounted the front shocks in the frame. Shocks are made from
9mm watch springs this time. Paint the body yellow and left the pin part unpainted.
After the paint had dried mounted them into little holes drilled in the frame and
tacked the top with a small drop of glue.
After this all sets up will try to clean up some of the paint boo boo's
and do some touch ups after assembly.

All for now

Finished the little coach up. Got everything assembled without any
disasters. Came out pretty good considering what it started as.
Paint is Testors purple lacquer with white accents.

Got back to the little roadster and finished her up.

She has a straight six in her, hence the off set stacks and one pipe. Stacks are 1/16 brass tube and also the pipe
also some other things thrown in.

Thanks for the nice comments on the coach and the roadster. With those finished
I decided to finish up some old buids that have been sitting around for some time now.
Dug out the old T-Bird and started working on it.

Image

This poor thing has been sitting around for over a year. Finished up some body work on her and primered
it, then started on the chassis.

Image

Started on the front first, which is a fairly simple affair then moving to the rear.

Image

The rear is a little more complex, the first part was built ,cleaned up and sanded. She also carries bushings
on the rear to allow the .059 axle to fit the chassis.

Image

The second part was then added to the bumper. After that had set up it was also cleaned up and
sanded to shape. The upright pieces have not been added yet, not quite sure what's going back there yet.

Image
Image

Put everything back together for a test fit to see how it was going to look. Still have to build
a fuel cell for the back to take us some of that open space in the rear.
Was not too keen on this one at first, but after the chassis work it's starting to take
on a different persona that just might look good.

The bumper work is now complete. The rear is a configuration I spied on a picture of an old coupe
I saw and thought it looked good.

Image

The front is the same as it was, just added a shock mount bar to it.

Image

This car started as an old T-Bird body, and just a comparsion of where it started and where
it is now.

Work continues on the T-Bird. Added a cage and fuel box to it.

Fuel box is mounted to the gear plate with a small lip on the bottom to sit on the frame.
The rear piece of the cage was bent as a single piece as to have a place for a head rest
to mount for the driver. Still need to fill in the front of it over the gear.

Starting to shape up with the body on and even lines up pretty good. still more to do before paint
but getting closer.

All for now

Been awhile. The T-Bird has been disassembled and put into paint.

Image

Chassis has the first coat on and working on some small parts, still have the cage and fuel sell to do.
Second coats will come later.

In the mean time started working on something different.

Image

Started with an old Peterbuilt truck body. removed everything not needed such as horns, lights ,air cleaners.
Got rid of the fenders and filled the openings in. The body was then notched and set back some
just behind the front wheels. Then we needed a way to mount the body.

Image

Made up a long post out of two and drilled them out for a piece of brass tube for strength
and mounted to the body.

Image

Made a new read deck to cover the gear plate and keep the body from moving sideways on the chassis.
Stil rough right now but it's a start. Was going to lower the body somemore, but the deck is already set
and I don't want to break it off and start over so we'll leave as it is.

All for now

The T-Bird chassis is painted and assembled for the most part. The driver and radiator are installed.

Headers are painted and need to be detailed, still need to install them and the shocks. Body is
still in primer waiting for a color choice.
Got to quit putting so many do dads on these, getting to hard to paint...LOL
