Construction continues on the Austin coach. Mounts for the body
are now installed. Body clips over the exsiting grear clamp and
just snaps on.

Hood has been fabricated with a small cowl piece added and started on the bumpers.

Car is starting to take shape. A few more pieces to do on the front, then on to the rear.

All for now

Kevin - as always, a HIGH quality build! I still love your metal work as always. The "football helmet face-guard" looks great!!! I am just amazed at what you get done!

Been working on the rear bumper of the coach. Starting to come together pretty good.

Image
Image

Most of the pieces are in place, but will need a little more clean up before finishing.

After this part is cleaned up, we'll add some uprights between the bars and add the
support bars for the body. Perhaps a piece in the back of the body to support it
would work better, we'll have to think on it.

All for now

The snow is falling and wind is blowing, good day to work on some bumpers for the coach.
We're putting the uprights in the rear bumper starting with cutting an small piece of clip
then grinding it to fit inside.

Image

It just happens to be the width of the hemostat, after grinding the fit is checked and adjusted. Once
the fit is good the piece is then placed on a piece of plain old scotch tape and placed inside the bumper.

Image

Once in place and adjusted, it's then glued at one point, and adjusted before the glue sets up.
Once set the tape is removed and glued at the other point. Use a small paper clip with some
glue and let it wick around the piece.

Image

This is done for each piece. Got four in, have one more to go. After this all sets up it will be
scraped and sanded. Hopefully after finishing and paint, the inperfections don,t show.
Have much more to do on the car, but with the weather outside sure not going anywhere
so I will spend the day playing with this.

All for now

Work on the coach continues. The bumpers are done and the the body suports are installed.
Image
Some extra pieces had to be put in to help keep the body supports in place.
Image
Work on the cage has also started, going with a x brace this time. After this part is done we can continue building
around it. Notched the gear plate to mount it as the body is very skinny and needs the room
to get it on and off,
Image
Injectors and filters are finished off and waiting for paint and cut the hole in the hood for them.
Image
This will become the radiator after a little paint and some dry brushing over the screen to make it stand out
a little.
Doesn't look like much right now, but will all come together at some time.

All for now

Cage work is now complete on the coach.
Image
Image
X frame style with a couple of down tubes at the back to kinda fill in the back.
Works with the body quite well.
Image
Image
Image
Sets back in the body along with the driver towards the rear. A little more cleanup on it and
the chassis should be ready for paint.

All for now

With all these roadsters and jalopys around here , thought I would try my hand at one.
Started with a hot rod body chopped the trunk off and built a new deck for it.
Image
Image
Image
Chopped the hood and set it back to the rear hole in the chassis and set the body back some. Then cut the chassis in the front
to kinda look like frame rails and bobbed the rear.
Image
Filled the sides of the hood in and opened up the grill. The front is cut in such a way that it
fits down into the frame.
Image
Sanded everything up, made a roll bar for it and a header pipe. Going to be a 6 cylinder so one pipe. Assembled the car
to see what it was going to look like after some primer to check the body work.
Image
Image
Need to make a couple of stacks yet for the hood and figure out what color, but this is what I got so far.

More later
