Here's something else I've started working on. It's a 53 Studebaker
Started with this
Image
Took 1/8 out of the rear deck to shorten it up
Image
After checking it with the chassis, something didn't look right so I took 3/32 out of the
roof and remounted it.
Image
So this is were it is now kinda mocked up and a start of a hood
Image
Still a lot of work to do yet but progressing

All three are awesome builds!

What do you use to fabricate the bumpers and nerfs?

John

Thanks The bumpers and sometimes roll cages when I feel like putting them in
are made from paper clips. Use small and large ones, sometimes straight pins
if I need a small diameter. Most times glued sometimes soldered.
I drill an indent in the chassis for the clip to go into rather than just gluing them on to the
the chassis and sand the glue smooth so the joints look better.
No tricks just a lot of misbent clips and cuss words.
Thanks for asking

The Studebacker is off the hook as well . Show us more hwen completed .

I think your next build should be a bullring oval so you can race these cars .

Something I finished up over the weekend a little coach that started
life as an AFX panel truck. Cage and bumpers are paper clips, the pipes
and carb stacks are 1/16 brass tube.
Paint is Duplicolor Desert Tan Mica wife picked it guess I should take her
more often.

Also the front wheels were turned down with a Dremel and X-acto knife to clear
the pipes.

Thanks for looking

JW's HO Speed parts now has front ends for this type of car, they have the right diameter axle so you won't have to drill out the chassis. The front end takes 3/16th wide tires and you can specify the diameter that you want. For a brass front end the part number is E14WP-B-.400, the number at the end is the tire diameter. White plastic front ends are E14WP-N-, black plastic is E14WP-D- and aluminum is E14WP-A- . The front ends are $7.95.

Thank you for the information on the wheel sets Rich will
have to look into it. Very pretty car by the way.
What size front tires are on the front of yours?
They fit the car well.

Here's something I'm working on. It's a Pinto from a AFX funny car.
Image
Finished up the chassis today, had to put bushings in the rear axle holes
cause the axle was 0.59 and the hole was to big. Bumpers are finished
and ready for paint.
Image
Image
Cage is built and just needs a little clean up.
Image
There is a driver that goes in there also but he can't go in till the chassis is complete
and assembled.
She's getting there.
