Thanks for the feedback about the scale (1/64 rather than HO) and body & track width stuff. I stopped by Modelville Hobbies in Ashland, MA one time a few years ago on a weekend and the place was packed for a 1/64 race meet. The cars were absolute rockets on the track - glued to the track with magnetic downforce and propelled by motors so much faster than what I remembered. Since I also remember when the 1/24 scale flying wedges evolved on commercial tracks for pure speed with no regard for realism with respect to being actual replicas of full scale raced cars, I get it.
It's certainly as reasonable for someone to be drawn to slot car racing for speed as it is for realism, so whatever makes it fun for the individual is what matters most.
These repaints are very well done representations of that Penske Camaro vibe.
