T-Dash Tuning Article

Postby RichD » Mon Nov 19, 2018 10:04 am

Recently I received an e-mail from Google Drive concerning an article on the early T-Dash cars that I had done several years ago. I presume that the sender had tried a link that he found in one of my posts that was no longer working. I update my articles frequently and I sometimes remove the older ones, in this case he was looking for revision 3, but I am up to revision 8, so 3 is long gone. There was a return address included in the e-mail that I got from Google Drive, but when I tried to reply that bounced back. For the benefit of that person and anyone else that might be interested here is a link to the latest version of the article: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzLR42 ... sp=sharing
I should note that the issues that often needed to be dealt with concerning the first generation of T-Dash cars have been corrected with the 2nd generation cars. I suppose that I need to issue a 9th revision of the article that includes that disclaimer.

Rich -
Thank you for sharing the link to the latest version!
With the 5ohm arms and now the new 3 lam 16 ohm arms being the latest offerings, if you are going to revise the article again, you may want to include that info as well - but definitely a great reference resource for young and old t-jet racers alike!
I know reading through it again reminded me of some things I need to check on a couple of my chassis to make sure I am not leaving any performance on the table (so to speak)!

Thanks for reposting , I have now printed it out.

A lot of it is over my head, but doing 1 step at a time I can see the improvement and understand it.

I understand that the new 3 lamination 16 ohm arms will be Fray legal. For HOCOC racing they will be legal for our next season. I have also done articles on the original Aurora T-Jet and the Johnny Lightning/Auto World Thunderjet 500. All three articles are almost the same, but there are minor differences between the three that would make a combined article confusing. The 2nd generation T-Dash can be treated the same as an original T-Jet since it is a virtual clone of that car.
