Dodge L 700 Ramp Truck

This started out as a Tyco HO railroad accessory truck. I cut the cab from the chassis and then removed a section of the body behind the rear wheels to match the actual truck. I added the flaring and step plates to match the real truck also. I then painted it blue and white and added some emergency lights to the roof. The plastic ramp body is from a Hot Wheels die cast. Details on the ramp body were picked out with some paint. The rear fenders were used from the truck, I cut them from the chassis and glued them to the ramp body. The cab and ramp body were glued to a piece of sheet plastic. Some mounting posts were made from some plastic tubing. It is all mounted on a T-Jet chassis with original Aurora truck wheels. The front bumper and fuel tanks are from die cast cars and trucks.

That truck looks like it came right from the Aurora factory in 1963!
