442 gets some color!

Being in a painting groove here lately, I tackled a "white kit" 442 body I picked up.

Having had great success thus far with the ACE brand paints, this one was treated a white base followed by "Sunshine Yellow".

I think I am going to go "stock" with this one - but will see what the coming days bring. :)

That's the perfect color for a '70 Rallye 350. I bought a used one in '71. I miss that car!

Hey Todd while you're at it can you blow that up to 1/32. I'll give you a standing order for a half dozen :D :D

Hmmmm... Rallye 350... Challenge accepted! The yellow definitely fits - now it is just a matter of making decals... :)

4424ever - I REALLY wish I could find one of these in 1/32 as well!

Todd, if you don't have the rear spoiler, it will still be correct. The spoiler was an option. I had a '70 Rallye 350 in '71. It was less than a year old, bought it with under 12000 miles on it, paid $1400. A totally stripped model, had rubber mats, no carpeting, no air, bench seat, and had F-85 emblems on the glove box. NO REAR spoiler. I bought an OEM spoiler from the Olds dealer. It was a great car for an 18 yr old kid! I beat the snots out of that car for 3 years. First kid, Rallye had to go.

The reason I got it so cheap: Test drove it and it was skipping. NEW Olds dealer couldn't figure it out! They called me and asked if I'd take it for $1400. Oh yeah! Went there with a paper bag in my hand, signed and paid for it. Salesman asked "whats in the bag"?..... I said a distributor cap. I told him I test drove it at night, lifted up the hood when I felt it skipping, and saw a crack in the cap arcing out. I changed it right in the parking lot, and did a 100 foot burn out leaving.
