Front tires for classic AFX Magnatraction/NonMagnatraction?

Postby ChallengerGuy » Sat May 09, 2015 9:50 am

Is there a decent source for "normal" ride height front tires for the classic AFX front wheels (hubs)?

If someone has found o-rings that fit and are of a decent ride height, let me know what I should be looking for.

Thanks!

JAG Hobbies sells reproduction AFX/Magnatraction tires, they are expensive at $2.25/pr. The tires used on the older X-Traction cars would also work.

Thanks for the info...sadly that's too much. Heister's rears fetch a buck a pair and that's a nice price for both parties. I have way too many cars to do, LOL.

I'll keep checking and bring a hub with me to the local hardware store and see what they have for o-rings that have some decent height.

Cheers,
Mike

Just a FYI, I use the narrow silicon tires for stock T-Jet's from Heister for fronts on a lot of my Magna Traction and AFX wheels. They stretch over the rim, give me a good ride height and they offer a very soft, pliable option.

Thanks! I just tried it and that works great! And you can have matching colors. Looks like I will be using this method for a few cars. I have quite a few Heister tjet skinnies.

Cheers,
Mike
