What is the point in repeating all the mistakes made by the Jaguar employed companies who rebuilt the crash wreck? The car used to be at Browns Lane. It was when I measured it and was essentially the same shape and size with just detail differences, like those silly wheel arch flairs which change the essence of the car so much. Neville Swales has managed to build a perfect replica of the original car, the only one that could be called an XJ13. If he could do it and I did it with my 1/43rd scale collectors' model, years ago, anyone could do it. The current one looks like all the rather pointless single cam kit cars that have aped that version. Apart from the details, yours is a very good looking model though.

I wonder if the SLS system will be capable of giving you a strong enough windscreen frame which is incredibly fine. When I produced a 1/43rd scale kit of the XJ13, the integral screen frame which "grows" out of the bodywork was a big problem to keep strong. Only the well fitting glazing gave it strength. Good luck with your project.

Lots of really good models.

I echo the call for a 1/24 Lola T70 to run against the Carrera cars - that would be a nice car to do. The only problem is it isn't easy to get bare chassis for Carrera cars - $75 for a Carrera car to be the donor chassis and then 89 euro for the body makes for an expensive car.
My thought then would be to offer a 1/24 adjustable chassis - lots of model kits out there in need of a chassis. If you made a motor pod you could then offer pods for long can motors or a pod for the larger Carrera 1/24 motor (something missing in the market as far as I am aware) - then we could fit any body to the car. I know that Plafit and other metal chassis are available but these are a step or two above the standard Carrera chassis so that means you can't race them against Carrera cars.
