Let's Go Racing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8-)

I sure hope my cars do better this year. Got my COT cars down to the blistering pace set by last years top COT cars here. I just hope it translates to the other tracks. Now my COY cars with the lower powered motors are about 2 secs off the pace of the Piranha. Gas41T set a blistering 55.63 Sec FL 2.58 qualifying time last year. This was equal to Scotts COT time of 55.63 Secs FL 2.55. Now if Gas41T has these Hawk powered cars running this fast I'm in trouble. I may could have dropped another tooth on the #43 to get it closer to my #42 by a sec. But I wanted to see how the gearing difference work on other tracks. 2:40 in the #42 vs 2:50 in the #43. Time will tell.

Some very nice paint schemes on these cars and glad to have many new comers to this proxy. Steve aka Sadco Racing welcome my friend. Missing a few of the old guys. No entry from Redlynr or 34ever1. Just means I've got to keep digging. :D

Wow, the COY 31 motor seems a slow one.
I obviously did not get a chance to break it in as it was a last minute swap.

I didn’t run my motor in nor did I go threw the 5 motors with an rpm check....
I just picked a motor and ran with it.....
It’s all about balance, which I’ve set my cars up as a balanced race car no bias to one side ....

I actually grabbed my 18k Hawk out of an old NSR anglewonder motor pod... don’t remember anything about how that actually drive. I agree with Rossko, balances car is better... but gear ratio plays a part

Those rpm numbers, as kozo pointed out, are rear wheel rpm. So I'm sure most of you know to multiply your final gear ratio times the rear wheel rpm to get the motor rpm. My #9 seems like a good Hawk at 7380 but times my 2.45 gear it is only 18,081. My #25 Is at 7980, which is a good Gator rpm but times my 2.62 gear it is 20,907. Both motors are right in the range they should be and almost exactly what I tached them at. So while my motors could be thought to be awesome based on this list, the fact is they are only average.

Also, RPM is only half of the equation... torque is also a factor. I the more torque you I’ve the more usable the RPM range is

Interesting that the majority are Hawk powered, given the tac readings, my 57 equals motor RPM of 15,622!!.
The 40 car is 18,150. I didn't check either motor before fitting or run them in
