So Ed (53BN1) is building a Black Arrow for the GT3 Proxy.Given it's almost infinite adjustment variables, running over to my place to test a setting ever time something got changed was going to be a major PITA, so he asked me to put together a small test track that would fit in his office/workshop/workout room. I gladly obliged as it gave me a chance to get some hands on time with the 3D router I recently gained access to. The track requirements were: small footprint (had to fit in a 12' x 6' space), breakdown into small (max 6' x 3') pieces for quick assembly and storage, single lane, cut from a single sheet of MDF, 10 and 12 volt options, drive-able in both directions, an assortment of curves representative of what is commonly seen at proxy host tracks.

So here's the Beast at work - a 5x9 foot flatbed 3D CNC router:

Took about a half hour of actual cutting time.

Then wire up the driver's station with power supply, voltage and direction switches and controller connections:

And after painting, laying down the tape and putting the 3 parts together, IT'S ALIVE:

Appropriately named the RiskNHope track (after a local farm) - drives nice, fun to build. On with the testing.
