On the topic of weight, here is a Group 5 car I won multiple national championships with years ago when I raced 1/32 plastics. Lots of 1.6mm brass in the chassis pockets and 2 carbide slotit weights where the magnet slots are. We had to run standard motor, gearing and chassis configuration under the rules but could run NSR or Scaleauto foam tyres. It was quite fast and smooth with the stock long can.
The Plafit 1/32 GT class run under Australian rules has a minimum 125g weight, most of us were up around the 130+ mark. They just got faster when more weight was thrown at them, again this is with Plafit foam tyres. With Fox 4 (25K) motors they are missiles on big scale tracks. Weight can be good when it's in the right spots.
