2019 Formula 1 Proxy - The Tracks

We're going to be keeping this Proxy series to 8 races, so that you'll all have some semblance of your cars returned to you at the end...……. Just kidding - I think we can handle this open wheel proxy.

The revised plan is to have 5 races in the US and 5 in Canada; just like the Can-Am series. All tracks will be routed wood.

Here's the list of tracks, hosts, locations and target Race schedule:

1. The River Run - Audi1 - Merrimac, MA - mid-February
2. Amoskeag North Racing Park - manchvegasracer - Manchester, NH - early March
3. OFIR - Modernslots - somewhere - NC - mid-March
4. War Eagle River - Tampa, FL - early April
5. Pebblerstone Model Car Circuit - Gascarnut - Irvine, CA - mid-April
6. The Targa - Luf/Alwyn - Vancouver, BC, CN - early May
7. Getcars - Radarek - Edmonton, Alberta, CN - late May
8. Autodrome - Ferrari1950 - Cornwall, Ontario, CN - mid-June
9. Chris' Track - chrisguyw - Toronto, CN - end June
10. Canfield Green - Chappy - Picton, Ontario, CN - mid-July

I’d like to offer hosting duties.

My club, Slot Car Addicts of North Carolina, would also be happy to host a race. We have hosted the other Can-Am proxy and now have Southern Slotter"s (George Bagley's) routed track, renamed OFIR ( Old Fart International Raceway), to host the proxy on. Its a rubber tire track and have 6 long standing members with very comparable driving skills. Thanks!

Here are some pics and information on Rob's OFIR track:






The track is 85', 4 lane wood, CNC routed. We only race rubber tires at 10 volts. Nice combo of sweeping turns and a couple of tighter radius turns. Scaley F-1s handle it pretty well even before the mods allowed in the rules.

With the schedule now full, I'm scheduling the races so that we do a Southern East-to-West US loop, followed by a Northern West-to-East Canadian loop.

Check out the first post on this thread for the tracks/hosts/schedule. If we can keep the race intervals to 3 weeks, then we can start in mid-February and finish up in late June; pretty good timing.
