Why not make it a spec series of sorts and everyone buys an All Slot F1? They sell body in white kits and and painted ones in four colours and one would guess spare parts are plentiful since it's a relatively new release? Heck, maybe All Slot would even sponsor the series in some fashion.

How available is ALL SLOT in the US, I've never heard of them till now. I see they have a web site, looks like an overseas purchase.

In regards to the Scaley F1 car, the older 2000's models had wider body's due to the larger motor and had the shallow blue guide which looks to be near impossible to change. At a later date they changed to the slimmer cars with the smaller slimmer motor and the waffer guide system. I think they were around 2005. We ran those as a class and they were frast but fragile.. they were designed with the nose cone to come off and be re-attached. The only problem is that we allowed the nose to be re-attached after the heat before going onto the next one. Without the nose on it, any significant crash would crush the front ends of these cars.. Some clubs use the Fly F1 cars and they seem to be built a bit better.. I have a few of the new Policar F1's in packages and don't know if they run well or not. Just some random thoughts...

I have a couple of the Policar F1's too, but haven't really run them yet. How much power is in that motor?
What about detuning any of the suggested cars? 14k or 18k motors?
Noodling things over too. :)

The policar F1s have a 25k motor, but the gearing does effect the performance so it comes in just under 3:1 @ 2.87:1. Also the ff motors are drop in replacement with perhaps a trim of the pinion shaft.
Some of the All slot F1 cars except the evo version have a very weak guide area and use 2 different long can motors.
If we stick to Scaley with ff motors and change to a spec motor and allow urethane tires , there is a base to work from. Scalex now have about 3 generic F1 cars also available.

Policar currently have 7 cars out.
5 liveried and 2 white.
But they are not modern era cars.
Scalextric have about 7 current cars , some duplicates ie Mercedes.
Older stock but current with ff include Ferrari etc and should be obtainable
3 Generic models in 3 colors, not quote as detailed or expensive, or breakable.
Carrera obviously also has Current F1 cars and some SCX can be obtained.

Just a thought , but single brand would be the easier way to go.
I checked All Slot and they are available but cost more and i dont think they are any better than Scalex when tuned up.
Our club races a class of Scalex F1 current with FF motors on spec and urethane tires, then gearing and rear axle assembly are open. Max width is set and we have a minimum 80 gram weight.
It is a good fun class and yes there is a lot of action and open wheel contact.

I think a Scaley based modern F1 series would be good.
Have one in mind already and have a car to use too. :D
